Carved In Stone: The Meaning of Gravestone Graphics

Join us as we explore the meaning behind historic gravestones!

Gravestones and cemeteries are rich in a language of symbols. Those symbols can be difficult to interpret because of changes in meaning over time. By examining the grave markers one can learn more than just the person’s name. This class will provide the skills necessary to investigate the past through tombstones.

Free with admission; registration is required as seating is limited. Call (580) 765-6108 or email piown@okhistory.org.
