Cherokee Finger Weaving Class

February 21, 2015, 10 a.m.4 p.m.

Event Navigation

On Saturday, February 21, the Pawnee Bill Ranch will host a class on Cherokee Finger Weaving. Loretta Gilliam, a weaver, artist, and long-time historical reenactor, will teach the class in the museum’s conference room from 10am-4pm. Finger weaving has deep roots in Native practice where handcrafts were necessary and provided beauty. Participants will be able to complete a small project and need to bring clothes pins, a minimum of three different colors of yarn, and a piece of cardboard or a clipboard to secure their weavings.

The fee for the class is $10 per person and preregistration is required. For more information, or to preregister, please call 918-762-2513. The Pawnee Bill Ranch is located one half mile west of Pawnee on US 64.
