September 16, 2017, 10 a.m.11 a.m.

Event Navigation

On Saturday, September 16, at 10 am the Pioneer Woman Museum will host a free presentation entitled “Decoding the Pieces: Further Study in the Quilts at Pioneer Woman Museum” by Martha Spark. This is the final presentation held in conjunction with the Pieces of a Collection quilt exhibit, which closes today.

This educational slide presentation will present further quilt study details on select pieces in the museum’s Pieces of a Collection exhibit. Quilts, tops and blocks can all be viewed as objects of material culture study, and can sometimes give clues to their date of origin. They can also allude to larger historical events that happened in the time of their making or perhaps as a memorial to a time gone by. Learn about some interesting topics of popular quilt design eras and quilt history tidbits as we expand our knowledge on the objects shown in this exhibit. Please call 580-765-6108 for more information.
