Holiday Happening Open House, Pioneer Woman Museum

The Pioneer Woman Museum is pleased to participate in the Ponca City Holiday Happening this holiday season. The museum will host a Holiday Happening Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 9.

From 1 to 3 pm Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories to children. Maggi Hutchason, executive director of Dearing House Child Advocacy Center in Ponca City, will portray Mrs. Claus.

Dr. Sterling Evans will give a presentation about the Dust Bowl at 1 pm. Dr. Evans is the Louise Welsh Chair in the Department of History at the University of Oklahoma, and holds a PhD from the University of Kansas. He also is the author of five books and several articles.

Harpist Elysia Strauss will play holiday music from 3 until 4:30 pm. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available for visitors. For more information about the Holiday Happening Open House, please call 580-765-6108.
