Wiley Post Monument Unveiling

Join the Oklahoma History Center on October 14, 2014, as it unveils a new bronze sculpture monument commemorating Wiley Post. Speakers for the event will include Oklahoma History Center Director Dan Provo and historian Bob Burke, whose biography “Wiley Post: From Oklahoma to Eternity” documents the life and times of the iconic pilot.

The History Center also will showcase artifacts from its Wiley Post Collection. Among the artifacts to be displayed are Wiley’s famed eye patch and his wristwatch. The event will be filmed and broadcast as a part of an upcoming program on a major network channel.

This event begins at 11 a.m. on October 14, 2014, on the third floor atrium bridge of the Oklahoma History Center with the full-scale reproduction of the famed aviator’s plane, the Winnie Mae, in the background.
