Christmas Past exhibit opens, Museum of the Western Prairie

On November 1, 2017, the Museum of the Western Prairie will open a new exhibit entitled Christmas Past. This exhibit features a collection of linocut prints by Derald Swineford, who was the head of the art department at Oklahoma College for Women, Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts, and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma from 1946 through 1977. Christmas at the Fort, Fort Towson Historic Site

Santa is coming to Fort Towson! On Saturday, December 9, 2017, Santa will be at the Fort Towson Historic Site greeting visitors and taking photos with children. Visitors can also enjoy holiday decorations in the sutler store, where volunteers in period-clothing will serve hot cider, coffe, and cookies. Free riding tours of the grounds are also available for visitors.

The Oklahoma History Center will host its fourth annual Deck the Halls on Saturday, December 9, from 10 to noon. The event is free with admission to the museum.
