Crossroads of Commerce: Oklahoma History Conference
Presented by the Oklahoma Historical Society
April 23, 24, and 25, 2014
From the territorial era to the present, Oklahoma has been shaped by inventions and innovations in its business and industrial development. Throughout this period, Oklahomans have combined capital, hard work, creativity, and emerging markets to drive the wheels of economic development. A small sample of the wide range of topics that could be relevant to this theme includes frontier trade, agriculture, petroleum and mining, railroads, retail trade, manufacturing, food processing, cooperatives, recreation, restaurants, and the role of labor and individual entrepreneurs.
