Oklahoma Historical Society Announces Annual Book Sale

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) Research Center will hold its annual book sale Aug. 2–5, 2017, at the Oklahoma History Center.

This year’s sale will offer more than 500 books, including many rare and out-of-print titles. The book sale has expanded to include a variety of items in addition to books. Visitors can shop for collectibles, posters, maps, photographs, LPs and more. The Oklahoma Genealogical Society will also have genealogical publications for sale. Book sale hours are 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Oklahoma History Center is located at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive in Oklahoma City.

The book sale is a fundraiser for the OHS Research Center, which has faced multiple budget cuts in recent years. Proceeds from the book sale will support the Research Center’s efforts to collect items of historical significance, provide programming for researchers and school groups and offer resources online.

The Research Center is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people. Founded in 1893 by members of the Territorial Press Association, the OHS maintains museums, historic sites and affiliates across the state. Through its research archives, exhibits, educational programs and publications the OHS chronicles the rich history of Oklahoma. For more information about the OHS, please visit www.okhistory.org.
