Holiday Activities at Will Rogers Memorial Museums

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Plans are in place for a festive holiday season at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore and the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch in Oologah.

On December 1 and 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch in Oologah will host Will’s Country Christmas. Activities will include photographs with Santa, storytelling, hayrides, Wild West shootouts, crafts for kids, music, vendors and food. Admission is free, with a $5 charge for hayrides for ages 15 and older. The Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch is located at 9501 E. 380 Road in Oologah.

Santa Claus will visit the Will Rogers Memorial Museum for photographs with children on the first three Saturdays of December—December 2, 9 and 16. Santa will be available for pictures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the beautifully decorated Heritage Gallery. Admission is free for Santa photos, and please bring your own camera. The Will Rogers Memorial Museum is located at 1720 W. Will Rogers Blvd. in Claremore.

Off season hours begin on November 11 at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and Birthplace Ranch. Both facilities will be closed on Monday and Tuesday from Veterans Day, November 11, through the end of February. The museums are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Questions regarding group visits and tour guides may be directed to www.willrogers.com.

The Will Rogers Memorial Museum and Birthplace Ranch are divisions of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
