Hunter’s Home in Park Hill to Host Twining Workshop

FORT GIBSON, Okla. — On Saturday, July 14, at 9 a.m., the staff of Hunter’s Home will host a Twining workshop at the Adjutant’s Office in the fort at Fort Gibson, Okla. Twining is a form of loom weaving using fibers such as jute or hemp, and is a great way to make bags, rugs, shoes and much more. For this workshop, attendees will be instructed by a Cherokee artist in making a bag using this traditional craft. The cost for the class is $56 per person and includes the loom, materials and instruction. Lunch is not included. Hunter’s Home and Fort Gibson are divisions of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
