March 10, 2018

Event Navigation

The Chisholm Trail Museum is opening a temporary exhibit about local artist, author, and potter Don Blanding on Saturday, March 10, from 10 am to 5 pm. Blanding was born in Kingfisher in 1894 and through his travels made his home in Hawaii where he wrote articles for a local newspaper. He became so popular that he wrote and illustrated his own poetry books, and he is often credited with starting the tradition of Lei Day. This exhibit will highlight the art and life of Don Blanding through artifacts, bright artwork, dramatic poetry readings, and interactive activities.
