Dick T. Morgan exhibit opens

Beginning in October, the Cherokee Strip Museum in Perry will host a special exhibit about US Representative Dick T. Morgan, who served as a congressman from Oklahoma from 1909 until his death in 1920. The exhibit will run through the end of December 2019.

Dick T. Morgan was born in Indiana in 1853 and served in the Indiana Legislature before moving to Guthrie in 1889. He practiced law in Perry in 1893, then relocated to El Reno in 1901 and Woodward in 1904. While in the US House of Representatives, he served on several committees and sponsored legislation in 1916 that created the federal land bank system.
