The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center brings back its annual Fall Lecture Series with a new theme, Legacy of the Oklahoma Cherokee Strip. The Lecture Series will be held on four consecutive Monday evenings starting on October 14, 2013.

Lectures will be held at 7 p.m. on the Enid Campus of Northern Oklahoma College in the Gantz Center. As always, the lecture series is free and open to the public. This year the lecture series will feature four Oklahoma scholars, each speaking on the area of their expertise. Each lecture will be 45 minutes long followed by a time of questions and answers. October 14, 2013 – Exploration and the Cattle Drive Era 1865-1893 Dr. Byron Price, Director of Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West, University of Oklahoma, will be speaking the Cherokee Strip prior to settlement.
