The Oklahoma Historical Society Research Center and the Oklahoma Genealogical Society are hosting the annual Summer Sizzler, a two-day genealogy workshop at the Oklahoma History Center.

Friday, July 29 – Preserving Your Family Treasures
This archival preservation workshop will be presented by Oklahoma Historical Society staff. Learn how to use archival standards to preserve your photos, books, film, videos, maps, oral histories, paper documents, quilts, dresses, and other treasures that bring life to your family history.

Saturday, July 30 – Digitally Preserving Your Family Treasures
This electronic preservation and organization workshop is presented by Oklahoma Genealogical Society officers. Now that you have learned how to care for your prized family heirlooms, learn how to take the extra steps to digitally preserve and organize them to prepare for disasters or to share with family members.

Registration is $50 for both days or $40 for one day. Lunch is included. The workshops are held in the Chesapeake Events Center at the Oklahoma History Center from 10am to 4pm. Doors will open at 9:30am.
