Event Navigation

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, the State Historic Preservation Office has canceled all May workshops. At this time, the December workshops will continue as scheduled. Our office will be working on a virtual workshop should the need arise in December.

The Oklahoma Historical Society State Historic Preservation Office May workshop series will be held May 20–21, 2020, in the Clark and Kay Musser Learning Lab on the first floor of the Oklahoma History Center.

The Tax Incentives for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings workshop will be held on Thursday, May 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Participants will learn about the federal and state investment tax credits for certified rehabilitation of a certified historic structure. A detailed discussion of the Historic Preservation Certification Application, Parts 1, 2, and 3 will guide owners and developers in successfully preparing the information needed for the State Historic Preservation Office to review the project and for the National Park Service to certify it. The session is designed as a stand-alone workshop or as a companion to the Secretary’s Standards and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings.

These workshops are free and open to the public, but we ask that you preregister. Space is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online or call 405-521-6249.

Design professionals who attend the workshops will qualify for HSW hours needed to fulfill the requirements of the State of Oklahoma’s Board of Governors of Licensed Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers. A certificate of attendance will be emailed to participants after the workshops. Self-report your attendance to the board.
