Mr. and Mrs. Ora Wood, 651 Sterling Street, parents of Seaman Frank Wood, received word that their son definitely had been given up as dead when a reporter from The Toledo Times called at their home. But Mr. and Mrs. Wood were not fully unprepared for the sorrowful news because shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack.

His parents said they had not given up hope of his being alive and had sent him an engraved Navy ring as a Christmas present. Three weeks ago the ring was mailed back to the parents.
