Member of Missionary Baptist Church. Served aboard the U.S.S. Bunker Hill, aircraft carrier. Died May 11, 1945, in action when the U.S.S. Bunker Hill was struck by 8. Jap suicide plane near New Britain, Southwest Pacific.
