BARNHART, WILLIAM JOSEPH

First Lieutenant, U. S. Army. Home address: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County. Mr. and Mrs. Lyall Barnhart, Parents, 1711 Huntington Drive, Oklahoma City Born February 16, 1920. Enlisted March 15, 1942. Decorations: Order of the Purple Heart; two Oak Leaf Clusters; Bronze Star Silver Star; Certificate of Merit for outstanding service in the Defense of Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge). Graduated from Classen High School, Oklahoma City; and from Kemper Military Academy, Boonville, Missouri, in the spring of 1941. Member Crown Heights Christian Church, Oklahoma City. Sailed for duty overseas in September, 1944. Served with the 10th Armored Division. Died December 30, 1944, in action in Bastogne, Belgium.
