Beadwork Activity

Many American Indian tribes use beadwork as a way to express their creativity and pass down traditions. Different areas, such as woodlands, southeastern, or southwestern, all have their own style of beadwork. Have the students research a group and learn about the differences in the beadwork patterns. Then have them create their own pattern and identify which group it falls under on graph paper. Have them share with the class.
