Meeting OCTOBER 2008 Living History Cabin Program Summer & Fall,
Wednesdays through Sundays Teachers and group
leaders, please call (918) 456-2751 to schedule a special program. Hands-on participation teaches visitors
about life in the year 1850. More
information and a teacher’s curriculum guide are available on the home page. Corset Making Workshop Friday, October 3, Workshop
open to the public. Participants will learn to make a
corset. History and information on
corset will be given, with a focus on the Civil War era, but other eras will
be discussed as well. Fabric and
materials will also be available for purchase. Tentative cost is $15.00 per person,
depending on class size. Reservations
are required, and registrations and payment must be received by September
15th. Ladies’ Camp of
Instruction Workshop for women interested
in learning to perform historical reenactments. Topics include clothing, customs,
performance, and much more. Taught by
Martha Ray of the Civil War Jewelry Making Workshop Sunday, October 5, Participants will
make a necklace and a pair of earrings from a Civil War pattern and will
learn some history on Civil War jewelry.
Cost is $25.00, and all materials are included. Reservations are required.

October 24-25, tours begin at A perennial
favorite at the Murrell Home. Reenactors in period costume tell scary stories about the
Murrell Home and eerie happenings.
After the storytelling, visitors will enjoy cider and cookies in the
smokehouse. Cost is $5.00 per
person. Reservations are required. Friends
