Guided Tours

Time Requirement: 1 Hour
All Ages
Size Limit: 70 People
Cost- $3.00 per person

A docent or staff member will lead the group through the galleries.

Book Arts

Time Requirement: 1 ½ Hours
Grades: 3-12
Size Limit: 40 Students (10 student minimum)
Cost: $5.00

This program allows participants to produce their own book using the museum’s collection of turn-of-the-century printing equipment. Students will handset type as they print the cover of their books. They will learn the decorative art of oil-based paper marbling, and how to bind a book using authentic book binding stitches. They will also have the opportunity to highlight the book with cuts from the museum’s extensive collections.

Printing Demonstration

Time Requirement: 1 Hour
All Ages
Size Limit: 70 People
Cost: $3.00 per person

Attendees will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration of typesetting and printing on a turn-of-the-century Chandler-Price platen press. Each member of the group will receive a souvenir flyer printed on site to take home.

Scavenger Hunt

Time Requirement: 1 Hour
Grades: K-12
Size Limit: 70 Students
Cost: $3.00 per student

This program allows students to search exhibits looking for key historical facts and themes. After the search through the museum, discussions will take place with a docent or staff member.
