For Immediate Release

As result of state budget cuts, the Oklahoma History Center and Research Library will undergo changes in hours of operation. Beginning August 1, 2009, the Museum of Oklahoma History will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturdays, and will be closed Sundays. Oklahoma History Center and Research Library programs will continue as will other exhibit and education programs.

The Oklahoma Historical Society Board of Directors approved these changes as part of the agency operating budget for State Fiscal year 2010 at their regular meeting on July 22, 2009. The board also approved several staff changes, modifications to some programs and other cost savings measures.

These changes do not affect any of the offices of the Oklahoma Historical Society including the State Historic Preservation Office as regular office hours remain Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
