Oklahoma History Center Announces "This is My Family" Student Art Contest

The Oklahoma History Center and the OHS Kids! website invite students to participate in a special art contest. The "This is My Family" Student Art Contest celebrates the diversity of our state just in time for Family History Month! Students can use pencil, crayon, or paint to show us how they see their family. Entries will be accepted now until October 31, 2008.

The contest is open to grades 1st-3rd and 4th-6th. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category. Artwork will be judged on creativity, use of media, and originality.

Winners will be announced during the second week of November on the OHS Kids website (www.okhistory.org/kids). 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in both categories. The artwork of the winning students, as well as honorable mention recipients, will be framed and displayed in the History Center. Winners and honorable mention recipients will be notified by mail when the artwork will be available to the public for viewing.
