Additional Information: The Oklahoma History Center and George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens invite Oklahoma teachers to a special afternoon workshop. Join David Hildebrand, a leading musical historian, and explore the music of the colonial and revolutionary periods. This workshop will discuss songs of patriotism, revolution, and military exploits that will help you bring history to life for your students.
The program will bring America's early music to life and target students of all ages, especially 4th and 5th graders. Spoken introductions and stories will put the music and instruments into context, while highlighting connections to great people and moments in our nation's early history.
I will arrange interviews with staff and David Hildebrand. This should be a great program for the kids with great response from them.
