The Oklahoma History Center presents Portrait of a President: An Evening with Abraham Lincoln, on November 19, 2009.
The Oklahoma History Center will open its doors at 6:00 PM and the program will begin at 7:00 PM. This program is available free and is open to the public. Seating is first come – no registration required.
Join the Oklahoma History Center and President Lincoln on the Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address! On November 19th the History Center will offer its guests the unique living history experience as reenactors bring the Civil War to life. Period music, civilians, soldiers, and more will help visitors step back in time for a wonderful discussion with President Lincoln. The president will explore the Gettysburg address as well as the strife created by a nation torn apart by Civil War. Following the discussion, museum visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions of Mr. Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln will be portrayed by Fritz Klein from the Lincoln Institute in Springfield, Illinois. Actor Richard “Fritz” Klein has been a professional actor and speaker for many years and began portraying Lincoln in 1980. A member of the National Speakers Association and a student of Lincoln himself, he has had opportunity to travel the world, portraying Lincoln on stage, in feature films, documentaries, and for many kinds of professional speaking engagements.
