The Oklahoma History Center and the OHS Kids! Website are announcing the winners in the "This is My Family" Student Art Contest. The Oklahoma History Center is located at 2401 N. Laird Avenue, Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma History Center is open Monday thru Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The winners have been chosen and are as follows:
1st – 3rd Grade

2nd Place Isabel O’Connor, 8, Oklahoma City
3rd Place Caleb, 6

4th – 6th Grade
1st Place Sydney Jones, 11, Idabel, OK
2nd Place Ashley Biggs, 10, Norman, OK
3rd Place Tess, 10

(Some of the parents requested that we only publish the student’s first name and age with no hometown listed, so that is why there a few last names missing.)

The contest ran from September through October and asked Oklahoma students to show how they see their family. The contest was part of the Oklahoma History Center’s Family History Month programming (for October) and is connected to the upcoming Tierra De Mi Famillia: Oklahoma exhibit in an effort to celebrate the diversity of Oklahoma and its people. The history center received just over 200 entries from around the state.

The artwork of contest winners and honorable mentions will be on display beginning December 1 in the Chesapeake Events Center of the Oklahoma History Center. All entries can be viewed on the OHS Kids! section of the Oklahoma Historical Society website at www.okhistory.org/kids/contests.html.
