The Oklahoma History Center is celebrating the holiday season with special Saturday events for the whole family. Experience a traditional Victorian holiday through period dancing, paper crafts and ornament making, games such as beanbag toss and tug-of-war, and songs. Explore the traditions of other cultures as Mrs. Claus reads American Indian, African, and Latin American holiday stories. Hear the sounds of the season sung by the Bishop McGuinness High School Choir, the Putnam City High School Show Choir, and Four for Fun. The Homesteaders will also perform their family-friendly centennial holiday variety show. Enjoy cookies and cocoa while getting pictures made with Santa. The special programs begin at 10:00 a.m. and run through 4:00 p.m. and are free with regular admission.
The Oklahoma History Center is conveniently located on N.E. 23rd St., east of the Capitol and across the street from the Governor's Mansion. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, $4 for seniors. Children 5 and under are free.
