Do you remember the
Oklahoma Semi-Centennial?


The Oklahoma Historical Society is seeking the following items for our archives collections: photos, printed materials, letters, telegrams, souvenirs, films, and other materials.

                 1. Any local documentation of any of the events held throughout the state.

                 2. The Semi-Centennial Exposition at the state fairgrounds.

                 3. The 1956 Southwest American Exposition.

                 4. Tulsarama.

                 5. If you were a participant in any of the events please send a written account of your
                     experiences to the email address below. 

                 6. Do you know of a participant that might be interviewed for the oral history program?

                 7. Help remember what life was like in 1957 by sharing photos, home movies, and descriptions
                    of your family, your town, etc. These memories do not need to directly relate to the
                    celebration of the Semi-Centennial. What was life like for Oklahomans living in Tulsa,
                    Oklahoma City, or any of the other towns and cities in Oklahoma? The year 1957
                    seems to be a favorite of many Oklahomans, was it for you?
