The Research Center's book collection includes over 85,000 bound volumes containing valuable historical and genealogical information on a variety of topics.
Our materials are non-circulating; we do not participate in the interlibrary loan program.
City directories can provide key information about individuals and businesses in specific area. Published annually, directories include the names, addresses and occupations of area residents. Government agencies and a categorical listing of local businesses are also included.

High School and University Yearbooks
More than 1,000 yearbooks for various junior highs, high schools, universities, and professional organizations are available in the Research Center. Search yearbooks below.
State & County Histories
Book collections include materials pertaining to Oklahoma as well as other states. County histories contain information about the events that shaped a region's history, and often include valuable information about early settlers, cemeteries, schools, churches and more. The Research Center's collection includes over 5,000 family histories donated by various individuals and organizations. Many of these books are rare or unpublished and can only be found in the Research Center. The Research Center is home to the state library of the Oklahoma Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This collection includes DAR Lineage Books as well as the Patriot Indexes. The Oklahoma Genealogical Society's vast book collection is also found in the Research Center. Numerous genealogical books are available to the public.
To locate family history books, search the library catalog by typing the family name in the keyword field. Remember to write down the full call number as well as the author and title. Family history books are arranged by call number, not by surname.
