Barbara Anne Jones

Submitted by Karen Gregory

Barbara Anne Jones (1922–1997) was a native of Oklahoma City whose parents were Gorge and Zaidah Bettis. She graduated from Classen High School in 1940 and then graduated at the top of her class from business school. She married Lloyd Jones in 1942 in Joplin, Missouri. Together they had 2 children who later gave them two wonderful grandchildren. The greatest joy throughout her life was her family and friends. Many hours were spent at the lake on the "why not" and following OU football through the decades. Besides her family and friends, she loved to volunteer and belonged to many organizations during her lifetime. One of her favorite volunteer gigs was when she was a "Bellmon Belle" for Henry Bellmon's first campaign for governor.
