Jack M. Bickham

Jack M. Bickham (b. 02 Sept 1930 in Columbus, OH) was a novelist and David Ross Boyd professor of journalism at the University of Oklahoma, where he taught professional writing. He produced about 80 books (mostly novels, but also some books on writing fiction) in about 40 years. His books included "The Apple Dumpling Gang," which became a Disney film. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame. Shortly after his death from lymphoma on 25 July 1997 in Norman, OK, he was honored with the Arrell Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Oklahoma Center for the Book.
