PIONEER GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY - KAY CO.

Submitted by Marlene Hume Stewart (Charter & Life Member)

The Pioneer Genealogical Society (PGS) of Kay County, Oklahoma was chartered on March 29, 1971, by 14 individuals led by Eugene C. Rivers (deceased). For the past 41 years, it has met and worked continuously to build the Society and its membership. The Society has provided information to many with Kay County roots and has assisted those researching their genealogy. From its beginning, the Society has focused on educational genealogy and history programs, workshops and projects. Through the years, an extensive collection of microfilm, books and periodicals have been either purchased for or donated to the genealogy section of the Ponca City Library by the Society and its members.
