Monogrammed Brick Stories

Valeta Thorne Lowe

Submitted by Jackie Pogue

My mother was the fourth of six children born to a woman who, at 17, drove a wagon full of family possessions across the Red River from Texas to escape drought. She was the only one in her family to earn a college diploma. She loved her three daughters and became interested in researching her family history in later life. The Oklahoma Historical Society was a great resource for her search.
