SHPO Calendar of Events 2015/2016

The Oklahoma Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office, is pleased to present its 2015/2016 series of special events. The location of each event or series is given below, and there are no registration fees unless noted. If you have questions, call 405/521-6249. Note: If you have a disability and need an accommodation, please call 405/522-4484 at least two (2) days before the event.

NOTE TO DESIGN PROFESSIONALS: Many of these programs qualify for HSW hours needed to fulfill requirements of the State of Oklahoma's Board of Governors of Licensed Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers. The SHPO will provide a certificate of attendance, and participants must self-report their attendance to the board.

SEPTEMBER 2015

11    Public Meeting for the SHPO's FY 2016 Historic Preservation Fund Grant Application (10:30am)

2     Tax Incentives for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (10:30am-12:30pm)

2     The Secretary's Standards and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (1:30pm - 4:30pm)

3     The Section 106 Review Process: A Workshop for Agency Officials and Cultural Resource Management Consultants (10:30am - 4:30pm)

4    Working with the National Register of Historic Places (10:30am - 4:30pm)

Location: Oklahoma History Center Classroom, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive (immediately northeast of the State Capitol), Oklahoma City

MAY 2016

4     The Section 106 Review Process: Introduction and Overview (10:00am - 12:00pm)

4     Determination of Eligibility under Section 106 (1:30pm - 4:30pm)

5     Working with the National Register of Historic Places (10:00am-4:30pm)

6     Tax Incentives for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (10:00am -12:00pm)

Location: Bureau of Land Management, Oklahoma Field Office, Main Conference Room, 7906 East 33rd Street, Suite 101, Tulsa. There is ample free parking available. Attendees must enter through security as this is a federal government facility.
