SHPO Calendar of Events 2017/2018

The Oklahoma Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office, is pleased to present its 2017/2018 series of special events. The location of each event or series is given below, and there are no registration fees unless noted. If you have questions, call 405-521-6249. Continuing Education Opportunities
Many of these programs meet the requirements for HSW hours/State of Oklahoma's Board of Governors of Licensed Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers, and for PDH hours/Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. The SHPO will email certificates of attendance after the event, and participants self-report or document their attendance per policies of the respective boards. Planners will earn American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification Maintenance credits for attending the statewide preservation conference, and instructions for documenting attendance will be provided at the conference.

9     Certified Local Governments Program: The SHPO and Municipalities Preserving Community Heritage (10:30 am–12:00 pm)

9     Introduction to Section 106 and Determinations of Eligibility for the National Register (1:30 pm–4:30 pm)

10    Working with the National Register of Historic Places (10:30 am–4:30 pm)

11    Tax Incentives for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (10:30 am–12:30 pm)

11    The Secretary's Standards and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (1:30 pm–4:30 pm)

Location: May 9 workshops will be in the classrooms and all other workshops will be located in the Musser Learning Lab at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive (immediately northeast of the State Capitol) in Oklahoma City.
