Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum Given Top Honors in True West Magazine

PAWNEE, Okla. — Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum in Pawnee has been named the top museum in the category “Cowboys, Indians, Lawmen and Outlaws” in True West magazine’s Top Western Museum’s issue. The September 2019 issue of the magazine contains its annual guide to the best western museums, and Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum is honored to be included as the number one attraction in its category.

The mansion at the Pawnee Bill Ranch will reopen Friday, July 26, after nearly a year of stabilization work to address damage from recent earthquakes. The impressive Arts and Crafts–style home was completed in 1910, and includes the family’s original furnishings. The reopening comes just in time for the annual Pawnee Bill’s Original Wild West Show on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27. The show features reenactments of acts from the original Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Shows and new attractions to celebrate women of the shows. Preshow entertainment begins at 7 p.m., and the Wild West Show begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. To purchase tickets or for more information, please call 918-762-2513 or email pawneebill@okhistory.org. No tickets can be purchased online. Advance tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 65 and older, $10 for children ages 4–10 and free for children ages 3 and under. Groups of 20 or more qualify for a group rate of $12 per person. For $22 you can purchase the full package, including a water bottle, a program and a ringside seat. On the day of the show, tickets are $15 for adults.

Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum is located at 1141 Pawnee Bill Road in Pawnee. Its hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, please call 918-762-2513 or email pawneebill@okhistory.org.
