Cemetery Symbols Workshop at the Oklahoma History Center Oct. 11

Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Explore the meaning behind historic gravestones on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at the Oklahoma History Center. Gravestones and cemeteries are rich in a language of symbols. Those symbols can be difficult to interpret because of changes in meaning over time. By examining the grave markers one can learn more than just the person's name. This class will provide the skills necessary to investigate the past through tombstones. The class will run from 1-3 p.m. and is free with History Center admission. Registration is required. For more information or to register please contact the History Center education staff at education@okhistory.org or 405-522-3602.
