50th-anniversary celebration of the Gemini VI-A and VII Missions



The Oklahoma History Center will hold a press conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the December 15–16, 1965, flight of Gemini VI-A and its rendezvous in space with Gemini VII. This historic event was an integral step in the Apollo lunar landings. Weatherford, Okla., native and Gemini VI-A Pilot General Thomas P. Stafford and other special guests will be in attendance at the press conference. Stafford went on to serve as commander of the Gemini IX mission, the Apollo X mission to the moon and the Apollo Soyuz international mission.
