Living History Event at Fort Towson Historic Site
FORT TOWSON, Okla. — On Thursday, March 8, Fort Towson Historic Site will host a Living History Event for school groups and the public. This interesting and entertaining day for teachers, students and history enthusiasts will include reenactors portraying soldiers, storekeepers and trappers showing their uniforms, weapons and lifestyles.
Participants will travel through different camps where reenactors will conduct demonstrations of their particular living history time period. Teachers must accompany student groups, and it is strongly recommended that there be one adult for every eight students. Reservations are required for groups and individuals. There is no charge for this opportunity to learn about Oklahoma’s history.

Fort Towson Historic Site is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
