Family Day at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch

OOLOGAH, Okla. — The Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch will host Family Day on Saturday, April 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. Jacob Krumwiede, Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch manager, will introduce families to preparing and planting kitchen gardens. In a spot behind the ranch house, Krumwiede will describe the purpose of a kitchen garden, vegetables and herbs that would have been planted by Will Rogers’s mother and how that produce would have been used. Visitors will help prepare the soil and plant seeds they can watch grow and then share in the harvest later in the summer.

The Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch is located at 9501 E. 380 Road in Oologah.

The Will Rogers Memorial Museum and the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch are divisions of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
