SUMMARY:The Battle of Honey Springs Reenactment
DESCRIPTION:Honey Springs Battlefield offers a biennial multiday event\, which begins with an Education Day for school groups on Friday\, November 7. Activities continue on Saturday\, November 8\, and Sunday\, November 9\, with self-guided tours through the Union\, Confederate\, and civilian camps\, and a reenactment at 1 p.m. Visitors can experience military drills\, demonstrations\, and living history programs\, and take a walk through Sutler’s Row\, which features a number of vendors selling clothes\, books\, souvenirs\, and reproduction nineteenth-century military equipment. Visitors from around the state come to see special presentations and watch the battle unfold. \nAdmission to this event is $10 per person\, and children 12 and under are free. \nSaturday\, November 8\n\n9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.- Visitor Center is open\n9 a.m. to 12 p.m.- Registration open for reenactors\n1 p.m.- The Battle of Honey Springs reenactment\n3 p.m.- “An Afternoon with General Blunt” program\n7 p.m.- Civil War–era dance\n\nSunday\, November 9\n\n9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Visitor Center is open\n10 a.m. – Civil War–era church service\n11 a.m.- Patriotic speaker\n1 p.m.- The Battle of Honey Springs reenactment\n3 p.m.- Conclusion of the event; the site closes\n\nVisit the Battle of Honey Springs Reenactment page for details about the biennial multi day event\, Education Day\, the battlefield grounds\, registering as a sutler\, and much more! \n
