Christmas Open House

The annual Christmas Open House at the historic Fred and Addie Drummond Home will take place on Saturday, December 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. Every room of the house will be decorated for the Christmas season socially-distanced house tours will be available. Occupancy is currently limited to no more than nine in the home at one time, and visitors will be admitted in the order of arrival. Visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing by staying six feet away from staff and visitors from other groups. At the end of the tour, guests will be given a Christmas treat to take home.

Author Rosanne McKee will hold a book signing during the festivities. McKee, a former writer for the Pawhuska Journal-Capital and the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise, will be reading passages from her novel Oklahoma Roses: A Tourist’s Companion Romance. Santa Claus will also make a socially-distanced appearance, giving away Christmas treats from the parlor through a candy chute to all good girls and boys! Chuck “Pa-Pa” Drummond, the father-in-law of Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond, is expected to visit during the festivities to tell stories about the Drummond family and its history in the area. This is the perfect way to celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends!

Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 62 and older, $4 for students, and free for children five and under. As always, Oklahoma Historical Society members receive free admission, and all active military and veterans with ID receive free admission. Regular hours of operation are Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. For more information please call 918-885-2374.
