A Groundbreaking Ceremony for OKPOP will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at 422 North Main Street in Tulsa. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell, Tulsa Mayor G. T. Bynum, and other special guests will be in attendance. The ceremony is free and open to the public.

OKPOP, a project of the Oklahoma Historical Society, will be dedicated to the creative spirit of Oklahoma’s people and the influence of Oklahoma artists on popular culture around the world. OKPOP will feature a number of famous Oklahomans, including Gene Autry, Garth Brooks, Kristin Chenoweth, Joan Crawford, S. E. Hinton, Ron Howard, James Marsden, Reba McEntire, Will Rogers, Leon Russell, Wes Studi, Carrie Underwood, Bob Wills, Alfre Woodard, and many others.
