Event Navigation

Mary Ann Jung will portray Clara Barton in this living history program. Tickets are $10 for OHS members and $20 for the general public. There is no reserved seating, so early arrival is recommended. Seating will open at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 405-522-0765.

Proper ladies of her time were supposed to be quiet, get married, have children, and stay home. Miss Barton would have none of that! She defied society’s conventions and risked her life to help others, thus becoming a true heroine. A passionate and moving public speaker, Clara will dramatically relate how she became the first woman to work for the federal government, its first female department head, and America’s first female ambassador. You’ll be swept into her story of the Civil War, dangers of nursing at the Battle of Antietam, and her struggle to get America to sign the Geneva convention.
