A Long Walk in the Sun: Mexican-American War Days, Fort Towson Historic Site

Fort Towson Historic Site will be the setting for “A Long Walk in the Sun: Mexican-American War Days,” a Mexican-American War encampment September 28–30, 2018.

Camps featuring US dragoons, infantry, and artillery, as well as Mexican cavalry and infantry, will be open to the public on Friday, September 28, from 10 am to 3 pm with various demonstrations throughout the day. There will be a skirmish at 1 pm on Saturday, September 29, and a tactical skirmish at 1 pm on Sunday, September 30. These reenactments are also open to the public.
