Event Navigation

Since the opening of the Will Rogers Memorial in 1938, Claremore has celebrated the birthday of its most famous resident, Will Rogers. Continuing this grand tradition, the Will Rogers Memorial Museum will host Will Rogers Days November 1-4. The festivities include the 2023 Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival, whiskey tasting event, wreath laying, parade, and birthday party.

The Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival features G- and PG-rated films from artists worldwide. The festival entries will be screened daily in the Will Rogers Theatre. Screenings run Wednesday, November 1 through Friday, November 3. Admission is free to all screenings, thanks to the Cherokee Nation.

As a part of Will Rogers Days, the Claremore Chamber of Commerce will host a Gentleman’s Cigar & Whiskey Evening “Celebrating the end of Prohibition” on Nov. 2, at the Melton Gallery located at 4th and J.M. Davis Boulevard. The event features whiskey/bourbon tasting, choice cigars and networking. Attendees will be able to purchase cigars as well as raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes.

On Saturday, Nov. 4 the Pocahontas Club will hold their traditional “Hats off to Will” wreath laying at 10 a.m. followed by entertainment and luncheon.

Also on November 4 will be the Will Rogers Days parade at 3 p.m. through downtown Claremore. Immediately following the parade, the Memorial Museum will host a birthday party on the grounds with cake, inflatables and family fun. No admission required.

The weekend will wrap up with a formal reception honoring the motion picture festival entries at 6 p.m. followed by the Dog Iron Award Ceremony at 7 p.m. For more information, call 918-341-0719 or visit willrogers.com.
