Please join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum on Saturday, May 15, for the Museum’s Tea and Talk at Horizon Hill. The program will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will be treated to a variety of traditional teas and snacks on the lawn at Horizon Hill, Territorial Governor A. J. Seay’s home. Barn Quilt workshop

Barn quilts, which are square-shaped boards painted to resemble a quilt block and are placed on any structure, have evolved into a rural development initiative to boost tourism in communities. Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum for Traditional Trades Day on Saturday, August 21, and discover historic occupations and heritage skills. Traditional trades and skills were the lifeblood of the community for decades where local craftsmen provided the items necessary for everyday life. Come explore a variety of demonstrations including carpentry, wet-plate photography, leatherwork, dressmaking, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, lacemaking, flintknapping, laundry, traditional cooking, and more. Maps and Mapmaking: Historical Maps of Oklahoma exhibit closes

On November 16, the Chisholm Trail Museum (CTM) in Kingfisher opened a special temporary exhibit featuring historical maps from the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), as well as historical surveying equipment from the museum. Maps and Mapmaking: Historical Maps of Oklahoma was created in partnership with the OHS John and Eleanor Kirkpatrick Research Center at the Oklahoma History Center.
