Spend afternoons during spring break at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Events are planned every day from March 16 to 20 between 1 and 3 p.m. to keep kids learning and entertained during their school break. Each activity is based on a specific aspect of Will Rogers\u2019 extraordinary life, ranging from his time as a cowboy to his passion for aviation.<\/p>\n

Monday, March 16<\/strong> activities include blacksmithing demonstrations, traditional dyeing, weave spinners, lacemakers, quilters and a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the museum\u2019s vault, library and the tomb of Will Rogers.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, March 17<\/strong> is Cowboy Day at the museum! Wear your best Western duds and come out to enjoy some cowboy-themed activities.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, March 18<\/strong>, in honor of Will\u2019s love of flying, it\u2019s aviation day. A flight simulator will be available in the Will Rogers Theatre, along with an exhibit about Claremore\u2019s own astronaut, Stuart Roosa. An Air Evac helicopter will land in the parking lot and be open for visitors to explore. Stick around for our annual spring break paper airplane contest. The winner will receive an autographed copy of Buckaroo Bart\u2019s children\u2019s book about Will Rogers as well as a gift card for the gift shop!<\/p>\n

Thursday, March 19<\/strong> is Route 66–The Will Rogers Highway day! We celebrate all things Will Rogers Highway. Enjoy a screening of the Disney-Pixar movie Cars<\/em>, with popcorn. The Boy Scouts are bringing their pinewood derby for kids to experience. Enjoy a day learning about Route 66.<\/p>\n

The week will wrap up on Friday, March 20<\/strong> with the Mid-Afternoon Frolic Talent Show, where kids can perform their talents on the stage of the Will Rogers Theatre and compete for prizes. Sign up at willrogers.com\/talentshow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All children under 17 are admitted free of charge during spring break, thanks to a donation by Win and Kay Ingersoll.<\/strong><\/p>\n
