M. GAYLE WELLS

Gayle Wells began his law enforcement career in 1968 as a police officer for the Carthage Police Department. He later worked as a police officer with Joplin, Grove, the GRDA, and the Delaware County Sheriff's Office. In 1995, he became the chief of police of the Grove Police Department where he was instrumental in upgrading the training program, improving the 911 Communications Center, initiating computerized reporting, and began the use of "in-car" cameras. Wells served on the curriculum committees for Missouri Southern State University and the Northeastern Oklahoma law enforcement programs.
