DAVE FAULKNER

Year Inducted: 2019

In 1959, on the day after he retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Dave Faulkner filed for the office of Tulsa County Sheriff and went on to serve a record-setting 11 terms. During that time, he modernized the agency by establishing Park Ranger, Training, and Warrants Divisions and grew the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office to become the largest law enforcement agency in the state at that time. Faulkner, a third-generation law enforcement officer, pushed for legislation that would require additional training and education for deputies. He died in 1991.
